Airtel Ghana Brings Play Portal For Live Viewing On-The-Go
With the increased popularity of Ghallywood, Kumawood and Nollywood movies, Airtel Ghana, the smartphone network, is giving customers unparalleled access to hundreds of movies through its new Airtel Play Portal. Launched in collaboration with Interactive Edge, a global partner in digital technology, the Airtel Play Portal features content from Stream TV. The portal provides access to live TV stations and an astounding collection of African movies and series through an easy-to-use web-based entertainment service.
The Play portal can be accessed by Airtel customers on all Airtel internet-enabled devices at http://play.airtellive.com . To add to the excitement, Airtel Ghana, dedicated to expanding its network and providing services that thrill customers, is providing the product free of subscription to the first 100,000 Airtel customers in Accra.
Airtel Ghana and Interactive Edge also launched an accompanying video content app, Stream TV, which can be downloaded from the Google Play store for free on all Android devices.

The app was created with lots of input from customers and was designed specifically to provide a mobile hub of entertainment and content. The result is a classic movie experience that is more in-depth, immersive and enriching than anything found on the Ghanaian market.” She further mentioned that “The app also provides the most robust collection of fully curated movie content with in-depth background information including cast & crew lists, synopses, and a lot more, right at the user’s fingertips”.

In addition, Airtel Ghana introduced Airtel Play bundles, which are data bundles that have been optimized to provide a seamless streaming experience. The Airtel Play bundles can be purchased via the USSD code *125*7# after the free trial period ends.
With the debut of the Play portal, Airtel becomes the first telecommunications company in Ghana to launch a web streaming platform and a dedicated streaming bundle.
